Meet & Greet, Silent Auction planned at Farm Bill Training for NAP

Posted on October 28, 2014 at 7:38 AM Comments comments (9)
KASCOE invites all FSA employees to participate in the Meet & Greet activities planned November 17 and 18, during State Farm Bill Training for NAP.

If you're not attending training, but are in the area, please stop by to socialize with fellow employees.

KASCOE will have a silent auction table set up at the training to benefit our Scholarship Program.  The money raised is maintained in KASCOE's Scholarship Account and is dedicated for scholarships in our state.

With the Christmas holiday approaching, you may consider donating a seasonal item to the Silent Auction such as an ornament, centerpiece, or decoration.  Any and all items are welcomed and sincerely appreciated.  Likewise, your support of the fundraiser through bidding is always appreciated.

Contact a KASCOE Director if you have any questions or suggestions.

Tuesday, September 23, at the first regular meeting for the newly elected directors, officers were elected as follows:

Dana McKinney, President
Karen Evans, Vice President
Nina Hunt, Secretary
Patti Karn, Treasurer
Laura Howell, Associate Director

Wednesday, September 24, our silent auction opened with a great selection of generously donated items.  FanKASCOE, our retiree organization, provided some excellent refreshments at the evening's Meet and Greet.

Thursday, September 25, District Director Dolls were live-auctioned, by our member and skilled auctioneer Kenni Crane.  Thank you to Kenni, for your assistance, to the anonymous donor, and most-importantly to all the bidders who worked against each other, and eventually together, to raise $800 for our scholarship program!  KASCOE sponsored Meet & Greet in the evening.

Friday, September 26, the Split the Pot Drawing ended along with the Silent Auction, adding another $219.00 and $1458.05, respectively, to our Scholarship Program.  Eight new members joined KASCOE during the training session, and a name was drawn from those members for a prize of a refund of their dues for one year.  Also, 3 individuals became PAC contributors, and one name was drawn for a $50 prize.

Please provide feedback to your Directors if you have comments, ideas, suggestions about these activities, and/or ways we can work together for the betterment of County Office employees in the future.

KASCOE’s Executive Committee met with the SED and other STO staff on Monday, May 5, to discuss the proposed CBS Strategy.  While much is still to be learned about the proposal, KASCOE and STO staff both expressed awareness that continued partnership will be critical going forward in this process.  The STO is committed to involving employee organizations in future discussions and KASCOE will come to the table as a partner, identifying ways that we can all work together to ensure this process best-benefits our employees and the communities we serve.

KASCOE Directors will be meeting on Thursday, May 22, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. EDT, at the Elizabethtown Service Center.  Discussing further details of KASCOE’s position on the CBS Strategy will be an item on the agenda.  Please communicate with your Directors prior to the meeting, or feel welcome to attend the meeting in-person.  KASCOE is your organization, and it can best meet your needs when you communicate and take an active role!
